Academic Integrity & Plagiarism
Academic integrity requires that students produce work that is their own. In contrast, academic dishonesty is a student's attempt to claim and show possession of knowledge and/or skills that he or she does not possess.
Submitting content that has been created or assisted by a computer application or tool, including artificial intelligence (AI) tools such as ChatGPT is cheating and constitutes Academic Dishonesty. You may use simple word processing tools to assist with spelling and grammar in your assignments, but you may not use AI tools to draft your work, even if you edit, revise, or paraphrase it. There may be opportunities for you to use AI tools in this class in which case, I will clearly specify when and in what capacity it is permissible for you to use these tools.
The following consequences will be enacted if a violation of Academic Integrity occurs: The student will receive an automatic zero (failing grade) on the assignment or test; no make-up work will be offered to compensate for the zero. The parents/guardians of the students will be notified of the event.
